Hello world!
I have recently discovered that Louisville has a treasure, a treasure that many people know and love, but many more are truly oblivious too or just afraid to accept. This treasure is food-not just any food, Good food. Food that makes you wonder what you have been eating all your life, food that makes you never want to turn back again, food that hugs you from the inside out.
For most of my life I was just like any other American that didn’t really think much about the choices I made in what I ate or where I ate, but in the last year or so that has changed so dramatically that I will never look at food again the same. In late 2007 I began working at Proof On Main, one of, if not the best restaurant in Louisville. shortly after working there I realized that the last few years of my life had been guiding me to this change inside me. my father had slowly been introducing me to the more finer restaurants in Louisville and I was beginning to appreciate the food I put in my mouth a little more. This change was of course radically accelerated after trying my first bite of food at Proof. Every time I went into work I could not wait to try something new and find some deeper love for food. After a few months of working there I began dating on the chefs, Richard, and he opened the doors even further for me. he made me try new foods that I would never have previously touched and made me fall deeper in love with food. Not only did he show me what food could be, he showed me that Louisville had so much to offer the culinary interest that was quickly growing inside me. And not only that, he showed me that there were so many places to eat that were incredibly reasonable in price. This was the biggest shock to me when I realized that for the same if not less to eat at Outback or Red Lobster, you could eat real food that actually tasted really good.
That is what this blog is about. The plethora of restaurants in Louisville that will tickle your taste buds without breaking your bank. In the last year or so I have been amazed at how many places like that there truly are and i am always excited to find new restaurants. So through this blog I will try to show everyone in Louisville where they can eat good food without spending $200. I will review some restaurants and I will give lists of my favorites and recommend others and keep with any news of new restaurants opening or old ones closing. I hope that this will be a place you visit weekly to find where to eat out each weekend in Louisville.
