A Better Valentine’s Day

Many of us realize that Valentine’s Day is really just a holiday created by Hallmark to get us to buy cards and feel bad if we don’t do something outrageously romantic for our signifigant other. I don’t really prescribe to the all the Valentine’s Hoopla, isn’t it better to show that love every day? Whether you are in a relationship or not, there is no reason to not have a good time on V-day without spending wads of cash and being surrounded by couples who really should have stayed in. So here is a list of fun places to go that will surely keep you away from the madness insuing at the typical locations for romance in Louisville:

Derby City Dogs-Located on Baxter Avenue in the heart of the Irish Pubs, this place has great hot dogs and will be sure to keep you entertained as you watch the people coming and going

Spinelli’s- Also on baxter, this is a good place to bring some friends and enjoy tasty and cheap pizza and to hide from cupid.

Derby City Espresso-Located on East Market, it is a great place to hang out and sip coffee all night and maybe catch a band or two while you are there.

El Nopalito’s-Located on Taylorsville Road, this place has delicious Mexican food and friendly service. It is more likely to have a few couples there, but the atmosphere is not one to grasp the love and sprinkle it through the air.

Cumberland Brews- On Bardstown Road in the heart of the Highlands, this place is great for beer lovers and food lovers alike. Come here for quiet and good beer.

Highland Coffee- A great place to get some coffee or maybe a sandwich and just sit on the porch and relax, maybe watch as the people drift by on Bardstown.

Santa Fe Grill- This mexican resaurant located on 3rd and Heywood is a great place out of the way to enjoy real Mexican tacos and enjoy the company of friends around you.
